I’m Salvatore DiSanto, a character stop-motion animator and storyteller originally from Long Island, New York. In January 2026, I relocated to Burbank, California, to continue pursuing my passion for bringing handcrafted characters and imaginative worlds to life—one frame at a time.

Before stepping behind the animation table, I worked as a SAG-AFTRA actor in New York City, performing in television, film, and commercials. That experience gave me a strong foundation in character performance, timing, and emotion—qualities that continue to shape my work as an animator today.

Alongside my creative work, I built a technical foundation in news media as a studio and field technician, where I developed a deep understanding of lighting, composition, camera operation, and precision—skills that naturally complement the craft of stop motion.

To further refine my skills, I trained with two of the most respected studios in the industry. At Aardman Animations in Bristol, UK, I completed Stop Motion 1, Stop Motion 2, and the prestigious Stop Motion Professional Course (September–October 2025), held inside Aardman's world-renowned studio. I also trained at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios in Los Angeles, completing their Beginner and Advanced Stop Motion Animation courses under the guidance of Alex Kamer.

Today, I am a full-time stop-motion animator at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, where I have worked as both an Assistant Animator and Animator. My professional credits include animating on Robot Chicken, a Green Bay Packers commercial, and two stop-motion music videos. In addition to animation, I've helped train interns in the fundamentals of stop-motion production, including animation techniques, set building, camera operation, and lighting workflows.

I’m passionate about every stage of the filmmaking process—from performance and animation to cinematography and mentorship. Whether I'm crafting expressive character performances, collaborating with a team, or helping the next generation of animators develop their skills, my goal remains the same: to create memorable stories that connect with audiences through the magic of stop motion, one frame at a time.
